Our mission is to provide a positive and safe environment that inspires students to become responsible, well-rounded, civic-minded, global thinkers who are equipped with 21st century skills and are prepared for the academic rigors of high school and future challenges.
For the fifth year, Project Cicero, an annual non-profit book drive, is taking place at the Lewis F. Cole Middle School. Since 2001, Project Cicero has been supporting school and classroom libraries in the NY & NJ public schools. The organization’s efforts have collected and distributed more than 1.8 million new and gently used books. New Jersey’s teachers and librarians who are trying to build or rebuild their collections will directly benefit from the books acquired during this year’s drives. The Lewis F. Cole Middle School will proudly participate in Project Cicero through March 2nd. All students and staff are encouraged to donate a brand new or gently used book.
- All picture, early reader, fiction, test prep, and nonfiction books WILL BE accepted.
- Textbooks, adult books, library discards or out-of-date nonfiction/reference WILL NOT be accepted.
Our school’s goal is to receive a donation of at least one book from every student in the middle school and one book from every faculty member. Please help get more books into the hands of New Jersey’s children. Books will be collected during homeroom.
The New Jersey Department of Education has released new high school graduation requirements including changes to participation in the PARCC exams for students in the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021. Please read the letters clarifying these changes by clicking on each below.
Eighth grade scheduling season is upon us. In order to give students and parents insight into the Visual & Performing Arts and 21st Century Life and Career courses (a.k.a. Practical Arts) offered to 9th graders at Fort Lee High School, teachers have created videos for students and parents/guardians to view. Click HERE to view these videos.
The Electives Form will be distributed during homeroom on Jan. 13th. After viewing the videos, students should complete and return the Electives Form by January 20th to their homeroom teacher.
If you have any questions about the course offerings, please contact Ms. D. Brigida, 8th Grade School Counselor at 201.585.4660 x 5506.
Please click here for the 2016-2017 Free and Reduced Meals Application. This application should be printed, completed and returned to the middle school's main office.
